Overview
Not So Meetha needed a storefront that felt as playful as the sweets it sells, without the overhead of a full ecommerce framework. The brief was speed, personality, and a checkout flow that never got in the way of browsing.
The challenge
The client wanted a catalog style storefront that loaded instantly on mobile data connections in tier 2 Indian cities, while still feeling premium enough to justify the pricing — all without a heavy CMS or framework tax.
The solution
Built the entire experience in vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no build step, hand tuned every asset for size, and used IntersectionObserver driven reveals instead of a library to keep the JS payload under 15kb.
Process
Discovery
Mapped the product catalog and defined a visual language around the brand's playful packaging.
Build
Hand coded semantic HTML and CSS with a mobile first grid, layering in vanilla JS interactions.
Optimize
Compressed and lazy loaded imagery, inlined critical CSS, and shipped via Netlify's edge CDN.
Results
Shipped in under three weeks with a sub 1s first contentful paint on 4G, and the client reported a noticeable uptick in mobile checkout completions post launch.
